We’ve been getting a few people asking for the tracks to our songs so they can remix them. Of course, with all our stuff being licensed under Creative Commons (and us just being naturally cool), we are all for this. And actually a bit curious to how they hear the songs in their heads. But up until now, there hasn’t been an efficient way to distribute the tracks.
Well we have just posted links in our downloads section to both the stems (bass, drums, guitars, vocals, etc.) and full Pro Tools sessions to all of “Promo Disc 2″. Feel free to download these, mess around with them, and share your end results with your friends, co-workers, dogs, and of course us. But i must warn you, the Pro Tools sessions are rather large (at around 3gb each).
Happy mixing!

Our new songs are here! Go over to the download page and give them a listen. Then let us know what you think! (As always, they’re licensed under Creative Commons so please share them with friends, burn copies, and use them in your youtube videos.)

So we just found out that the show a week from today (Friday June 20th) is going to be staring earlier than we were first told. If you plan on coming (and you definitely should), try to be there around 7:30 or so. We will be playing from 8:00pm-9:15pm.
and afterwards stick around to hear Rigby

We’re all about supporting local arts and helping to foster an artistic community around what we’re doing. To that end, we decided to take a bit of a different route when it comes to merchandise. Instead of printing up a couple of designs and selling them at shows for profit, we’ve been in touch with a few local artists who are inspired by our tunes and are interested in expressing themselves through the medium of silk screen.
They’re going to be providing us with limited run shirts personally numbered and signed, and we’re in turn supporting them by selling their shirts for them at our table. The vast majority of the sale price goes straight back to the artist, and you the fans get a one of a kind honest to goodness piece of locally produced art to wear around.

Along with the performing of our first few shows comes the first few videos, and pictures of our first few shows… We’ll be trying to document every show we do, and then post parts of them to this site. That way if you’re not able to come see us live (which is always encouraged), you’ll still be able to see what’s going on and stay involved.
We’ve also added a Downloads section to the website. Here you can download everything we are doing for free. From all of our music and the artwork that accompanies it, to t-shirt and postcard designs. Feel free to download, play with, and share anything everything you find on here. Remember, it’s all licensed under Creative Commons
Hope everyone is having a good spring, and be looking for some new music in the next couple months.

The time has come for us to step out of our studio and step into the world of preforming live music. As of today, we have three shows set up over the next few months. If you’re in the Dallas area we would love to see you come out. If you’re somewhere further away, we’ll be recording parts of each show and posting them for you to watch later.
-Happy Leap Day!

December 1, 2007
Welcome December (…. wow)
-our myspace, facebook, and other pages are filling out nicely with music to listen to and words to read… One of them being a blog that David wrote on Creative Commons and why we support it.
-We got all the artwork finish, and you probably saw when coming into this site.
-And we’re gearing up to start playing shows, hopefully as early as this year….
So go listen to the music, download it, and share it… in a tiny way, it’s our Christmas gift to you

So a lot of stuff has been going on since the first posting back in September….
- We had our first photo shoot and got some good pictures for you to look at
- We’ve finished a few songs, got them recorded, and are now waiting for them to be mixed and all that good stuff (hmm, that sounds weird, cause really, I’m doing all of the mixing.. ha)
- We have some really cool art work that was done for our “Promo Disc 1″ CD, our website, and promo t-shirt.. oh, and our Logo
- and we have all of the other internet sites up (although they’re still pretty empty right now) (these can be found in the contact part of the site)
… thats a lot in a month, but we think you’ll like the end results!

Sept 29, 2007. The creation of the official Watching Cars website. It’s pretty empty now, but things will begin to fill in as we get this new site going. We’re currently writing new songs and getting them on tape, so that you’ll be able to hear them, download them, and do what ever else you might want to do with songs… All of our music will be filed under a Creative Commons copyright, so feel free to use our music. -Collin
So we registered a domain name today, got it hooked up to our hosting account, and downloaded this nifty thing called Wordpress. And here we are: our interwebs debut. It doesn’t look like much now, but just you wait. You know, until we have, um, photos. Or shows. Or songs. That is to say, great things are coming.
